Hygiene instructions according to §§ 42/43 Infection Protection Act
Service description
According to §§ 42/43 of the Infection Protection Act, persons working in the food sector must attend an instruction session organised by the public health department before starting work. The aim of this instruction is to create awareness in order to prevent the transmission of pathogens through and via food.
This applies to all persons who come into commercial contact with certain (perishable) foodstuffs specified in the law when manufacturing, handling or placing them on the market. It also applies to all persons who work in kitchens in restaurants or other catering establishments. This also applies to cleaning staff who come into contact with consumer goods (e.g. work equipment).
A certificate is issued by the public health department for participation in the instruction. This must be kept by the employer. Without this, it is not permitted to take up work in the food industry for the first time.
Procedure
Registrations for the training sessions can be made by telephone from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 12 noon on 06841 104-7170.
The instruction times are as follows:
- Wednesday 09:00-10:30 (attendance 08:30)
- and Thursday 14:00-15:30 (attendance 13:30)
Which documents are required?
- Adults: identity card, declaration of assumption of costs by employer if applicable
- Minors: identity card, declaration of consent to data collection for Annex I, Annex I for minors (download area)
Participants who are minors must submit the declaration of consent for data collection for Annex I and Annex I for minors by the instruction date at the latest. The template for this (parental declaration) can also be downloaded from the instruction download area.
What fees are charged?
- Initial instruction: 38,00 Euro
- Follow-up instruction: 15,00 Euro
- Duplicate: 13,00 Euro
