The meeting point is in the herb garden right next to the house. The workshop will be led by Angela Bloedorn, a photographer, nature and mindfulness coach, and specialist advisor on self-sufficiency using edible wild plants. The participation fee is 9 euros per person, including a herbal drink and a small snack made from wild herbs.
The workshop offers a practical insight into the variety of edible wild herbs. The focus is on native plants that grow in the local area and are traditionally used as food and for medicinal purposes. During a group herb walk, selected wild herbs will be identified, collected and their characteristics explained. The session will cover distinguishing features, active ingredients and possible uses in cooking and traditional medicine. A mindful and sustainable approach to nature is an integral part of the workshop.
Afterwards, the herbs that have been gathered are prepared and tasted. Participants are given basic guidance on how to prepare them and how to easily incorporate them into everyday recipes. The experience is rounded off by everyone working together to create a collection of wild herbs to take home.
The workshop is aimed at anyone interested in edible native wild plants and how to use them. Please bring clothing suitable for the weather and a screw-top jar; no prior knowledge is required.
