Conversion of the heating system at GemS Bexbach
The heating system at Bexbach Comprehensive School was replaced in 2025–2026.
The initiative was funded as part of the EU’s ZENAPA project and by the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW).
A switch to renewable energy sources took place. As part of this, the heating system, which had previously relied on fossil fuels (natural gas), was converted to a heat pump system.
The new solar panel system on the roof of the building, combined with an electricity storage unit, will support operations by utilising the electricity generated on site.
