Service description
Foreigners' associations are required to register and provide information. A foreigners' association exists if the majority of members and/or board members are foreign nationals and they are not nationals of a member state of the European Union.
Which documents are required?
The application must include:
- the articles of association or, if the association has no articles of association, details of the name, registered office and purpose of the association,
- Names and addresses of the members of the Management Board or persons authorised to represent the company,
- Information on the countries in which the association has sub-organisations.
The persons obliged to register must notify any changes to the aforementioned details and the dissolution of the association within two weeks.
Registrations and notifications must be made in German.
Further information
Irrespective of registration with the district police authority, associations can be entered in the register of associations at the local court responsible for the association's registered office.
The relevant tax office can provide information on questions relating to the non-profit status of associations.
