The course takes place from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm, led by Taekwondo instructor Michael Hecht, at the Taekwon-Do Centre, Eisenbahnstraße 34, 66424 Homburg. The Mädchenatelier is an AWO initiative that offers girls and young women creative activities, workshops to boost self-confidence, and support with career guidance.
Dangerous situations cannot always be avoided, but with the right knowledge and specific techniques, you can significantly boost your sense of personal safety. A practical self-defence workshop teaches women how to recognise danger at an early stage, carry themselves with confidence and defend themselves effectively in an emergency. The focus is on realistic everyday situations and self-defence techniques that are easy to learn and effective.
Comfortable sportswear and indoor trainers are recommended for the workshop. As the event lasts around four hours, participants should also bring plenty of drinks and, if required, a light snack.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge. As the number of places is limited, advance registration is required by 21 August. Further information is available from the Saarpfalz District Women’s Office (email: [email protected], tel: 06841 104-7138) and the Mädchenatelier Homburg ([email protected], tel: 06841 9936735), where you can also register for the workshop.
