Overview of market activities in the Saarpfalz district

When the Federal Building Act (BBauG) came into force in 1960, the legislator established the institution of expert committees. The aim was to make the property market more transparent. Today, Sections 192 to 199 of the latest version of the Federal Building Code (BauGB) form the legal basis for the work of the expert committees.

In accordance with legal requirements, the expert committees prepare a property market report for their area of responsibility. Property market reports contain market data and developments in the regional property market. This published information is based on the purchase price collections that are kept and analysed by the expert committees in accordance with Section 195 BauGB.

The content of the report serves as a basis of information for citizens who wish to acquire, sell or lend property. It is also aimed at people working in the property industry as well as representatives of politics, local authorities and public administration.

The property market report thus provides an overview of the regional market situation in the Saarpfalz district.

The figures have generally been analysed using statistical methods. The data in the property market report therefore provides a generalised, characteristic impression of the general conditions.

The report alone is generally not sufficient to determine the exact value of a property. In this case, a market value appraisal should be commissioned.
