The Saarpfalz District Health Authority has today issued a boil-water notice for the Erfweiler-Ehlingen district of the municipality of Mandelbachtal. This is a precautionary measure, as various pathogens have been detected in the drinking water at low concentrations. The cause is believed to be a burst pipe in the supply line, which was repaired on Sunday 12 July. Mandelbachtal Technical Services are currently flushing the water mains.
The Public Health Authority takes new samples every day. As soon as three consecutive samples have come back normal, the boil-water notice will be lifted. The local council and district authority will provide information about the lifting of the notice.
