Saarpfalz District at the Special Olympics National Games
“Saarpfalz District is here” was the slogan on Saturday 13 June at the major torch relay events in Medelsheim, Homburg and Blickweiler, which took place in the run-up to the 2026 Special Olympics National Games in Saarland, scheduled for 15 to 19 June.
In Medelsheim and Blickweiler, the torch relays were integrated directly into two races of the LVM Saarland Trofeo, which took place from 11 June to 14 June. In Homburg, the torch relay started in the market square and ended at Christian-Weber-Platz with the opening of the Inclusion Festival, at which the Saarpfalz district was also represented with a large stand and a varied, inclusive programme of hands-on activities for children.
