Partnerships
The Saarpfalz district has maintained intensive international contacts with France, Poland and the USA since the 1990s and has continuously expanded its partnership network in recent years, particularly towards Ukraine and Eastern Europe. On the basis of personal encounters and exchanges, particularly in the cultural and educational fields, close bonds of friendship have been forged both in neighbouring regions and across greater continental distances. The fact that binding partnerships and future-orientated municipal cooperation have gradually developed from this is the result of many years of experience and strategic efforts in initiating and maintaining transnational relationships at an administrative-political level, but especially at a civil society level.

It's about more than just translating in the foreign languages, it's more about knowing the mentalities, their differences, customs in the respective country and also spontaneous reactions in order to avoid misunderstandings."
