Parental assistance (EB)
Service description
Parental counselling is one of the oldest and best-known outpatient support services offered by the youth welfare office. From its "voluntary" beginnings, it has developed into a professional youth welfare service. In the Saarpfalz district, only qualified specialists from public and independent organisations are deployed for this activity.
The task of an educational counsellor is to support the child or young person in overcoming developmental problems and to promote their independence. In doing so, the social environment should be included and the relationship to the family should be maintained.
Parental assistance is an educational aid based on Section 30 of Book VIII of the German Social Code (SGB VIII) and is provided at the request of the legal guardians.
