Developmental Psychological Counselling (EPB)
Service description
Developmental psychology counselling is a low-threshold, video-based counselling service for parents with babies and toddlers in the crucial early years. The counselling model is based on the fundamentals of infant, toddler and attachment research as well as the latest findings in developmental psychology.
Developmental psychology counselling works with short video sequences from various everyday situations. After analysing the video, strategies are developed together with the parents to promote positive parent-child interaction. Parents are sensitised to their child's individual abilities and receive information on developmental issues. The starting point for counselling is always the observation of the child with its individual skills and needs.
Developmental psychology counselling is used as a complementary method in socio-pedagogical family work across teams. Families who do not receive youth welfare services and become aware of EPB through external organisations also take up the offer.
