Infection protection in the paediatric and youth health service
Service description
Infancy and preschool age is an age in which many infectious diseases are experienced.
In order to make it easier for day-care centres to deal with these diseases, leaflets have been produced for a number of infectious diseases of a viral, bacterial and parasitic nature.
These are categorised according to:
- Pathogen
- Symptoms of illness
- Duration of infectiousness
- Incubation period
- Preventive measures
- Reporting and notification obligations of community facilities to the responsible health authority
- Recommendations for the community centre with information on re-admission after illness.
The leaflets are primarily intended to inform employees in the community centres. If necessary, they can also be photocopied and distributed to parents.
A number of the listed infectious diseases must be reported or notified in accordance with the Infection Protection Act (IfSG). Corresponding notification forms should be available in every community centre.
The question of re-admission to the community centre after illness is dealt with in detail in the information sheets. Whether written certificates from treating doctors are required in accordance with the Infection Protection Act is specified for each individual illness. In principle, however, the management of a community centre can make individual agreements regarding the submission of medical certificates in their admission contracts in written agreement with the parents.
The compilation of the information sheets does not claim to be complete and must be supplemented and updated over time.
