Psychiatry Commission pursuant to Section 6 (2) of the Saarland Mental Health Assistance Act (PsychKHG)
Service description
Saarland's "Mental Illness Assistance Act" (PsychkHG) regulates counselling, assistance and protective measures, including accommodation under public law, for people who are functionally impaired, ill or disabled as a result of a mental disorder or mental illness.
The aim of the law is to offer suitable assistance and to avoid coercive measures as far as possible.
The assistance includes, in particular, counselling, support, guidance to medical or psychotherapeutic treatment, the provision of help for self-help and social work services as well as voluntary help.
Cooperation and collaboration between the organisations providing help for the mentally ill
In Section 6 - Cooperation and prevention - the law emphasises the need for cooperation and trust between the providers of assistance for the mentally ill in the care region.
The Saarpfalz district has formed a regional psychiatry commission to promote this.
All regional and supra-regional organisations and service providers relevant to the Saarpfalz-Kreis care region are represented in it.
Together, they pursue the goal of promoting the organisation of comprehensive psychiatric support, especially for people with severe acute and long-term mental illnesses and complex support needs.
