Socio-educational support at the vocational training centres
Service description
A key area of work is the socio-educational support of pupils at the two vocational training centres in the Saarpfalz district. The aim here is to work closely with the teachers at the vocational training centres to support pupils, particularly those in pre-vocational training (AV) and vocational school 1 (BF1), in achieving their educational goals, in their personal development and in work placements, and to counteract truancy.
All socio-educational specialists work towards close networking with other support services in the region, to which they refer and accompany the pupils if necessary. No one should fall through the net, which is why great importance is attached to developing target-oriented prospects for the time after the school forms of training preparation (AV) and vocational school 1 (BF1). To this end, there is close cooperation with the careers advice service of the employment agency, the job centre, the youth welfare office of the Saarpfalz district and the youth coordination office, which is also part of the Saarpfalz district department.
The "Social work in the vocational training centres in the Saarpfalz district" project is funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and the Saarland Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Women and Health and the Saarland Ministry of Education and Culture as part of the "Investments in Growth and Employment" programme.
The influx of refugees increased the need for childcare services at the BBZ. With the help of additional state funding, two additional positions were created for this target group.
