Service description
Child day care comprises the regular care of children within or outside the household of the legal guardians. It serves to reconcile family and work and is intended to promote the child's development into an independent and socially competent personality.
Child day care is a legally recognised form of childcare in a family environment and is therefore an equivalent form of childcare for parents to institutional childcare in crèches. It enables the individual needs of the child and their family to be taken into account to a particular degree. The education, upbringing and care of the children is based on the "Saarland Education Programme".
The programme is aimed at families with children aged between eight weeks and 14 years.
The parents and the childminder enter into an educational partnership within the framework of childminding.
