Areas of responsibility and fields of work
The school psychological service supports the educational work at schools through diagnostics and school-related counselling, thereby contributing to the fulfilment of the school's educational mandate (see "Ordinance on the School Psychological Service" of 7 August 2008).Specific areas of responsibility include:
1. Diagnostics, counselling and support for
- learning and performance disorders
- behavioural problems
- social and educational problems
- personality and developmental disorders
2. Counselling and assistance with psychosocial conflicts at school
3. School career counselling (and help with career choices)
4. Preparation of specialist psychological reports
5. Preparation of school supervisory decisions
6. Further training for teachers
7. Participation in the clarification of facts in connection with threats to the welfare of children (Section 1 (2b) SchoG)Target groups of the counselling service
The counselling service is aimed at all pupils, their legal guardians and teachers at all public schools in the Saarpfalz district. Counselling is voluntary, neutral, subject to psychological confidentiality and free of charge for those seeking advice.Who should I contact?
Registration for counselling takes place directly via the secretariat of the School Psychology Service: parents/guardians, pupils and teachers can contact the School Psychology Service by telephone.
The location of the school attended by the person requiring counselling is decisive for responsibility.
