On Friday 20 November, a two-day seminar exploring the topic of ‘Leadership and Management’ will begin at the Saarpfalz District Women’s Office on Scheffelplatz in Homburg. It will be led by Yvonne Fegert, training officer at the Chamber of Labour and a certified specialist adviser for the German Institute for Adult Education.
Women remain under-represented in leadership and management roles in the private sector and the civil service. Various measures, such as women’s advancement plans, equality officers, quota schemes and voluntary commitments, are intended to help increase the proportion of women in positions of responsibility.
But what does good leadership require? What demands do leadership roles entail? And what skills and strengths do women already possess that enable them to successfully take on leadership responsibilities?
The seminar invites participants to explore their own understanding of leadership and to reflect on opportunities for personal development. To this end, the participants work together to identify which professional, methodological and personal skills are essential for successful leadership. Furthermore, participants compare their personal skills profile with the requirements of leadership roles and identify individual development goals as well as suitable opportunities for further training. The event is aimed at women who wish to take on leadership responsibilities or who want to steer their career development specifically towards a management role.
The seminar takes place on Friday from 3 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The seminar fee for the two days is 115 euros, or 86 euros with a discount.
