The Climate Protection and Climate Adaptation Management teams of the Saarpfalz district and the town of Homburg demonstrate how local authorities can prepare for this and what adaptation means in practical terms in an urban context, under the title ‘From one another. Learning together. – Climate adaptation you can touch’.
All residents are invited to the small meeting room at the Homburger Forum on Tuesday 15 September at 5 pm, where the staff responsible will not only explain the plans and measures but also demonstrate them in person. Admission is free; no registration is required.
A short talk begins by answering the fundamental question – “Climate adaptation – what is it?” – in an accessible way, using pictures and examples. This is followed by a climate walk through Homburg, taking in ‘sponge city’ sites, drinking fountains and shaded areas. An interactive exhibition invites visitors to explore – featuring insect hotels and nesting aids, a ‘map of cool spots’ and the chance to try out the ‘sponge effect’ for themselves. To round off the event, there will be time for questions and discussions about the region.
