Shortly before Easter, AQuiS GmbH - Gesellschaft für Arbeit und Qualifizierung im Saarpfalz-Kreis mbH - shows once again that social commitment is part of everyday life there: As part of a special Easter campaign, participants and employees of the "Kirkeler Nähkästchen" project handed over several large boxes full of home-sewn cuddly toys, rag dolls and carrier and shopping bags to the Homburg food bank. The items lovingly handmade by the project participants are to be distributed to people in need - especially children - in time for Easter.
The idea behind it is as simple as it is effective: in the sewing workshop of the "Kirkeler Nähkästchen", numerous colourful owls, little animals and small bags have been created over the past weeks and months - all handmade by participants. What began as an employment programme has become a project with real added social value.
"Easter is a celebration of joy - and we want to share this joy," say those responsible at AQuiS. "Our participants have sewn with great care, passion and commitment. The fact that this work is now directly benefiting people who need support makes us very proud."
The Homburg food bank, which regularly supplies needy families and individuals in the Saarpfalz district, gratefully accepted the donation. The colourful stuffed animals and bags will be given to children and families in the coming days at Easter.

The "Kirkeler Nähkästchen" is an employment measure in accordance with Section 16d of the Second Social Security Code and is funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF-Plus) through the Saarland Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Women and Health and the Saarpfalz-Kreis Job Centre.
