The vernissage for the special exhibition "Mister Tad - Artefacts" took place in the Fürstinnengrab in the Bliesbruck-Reinheim European Cultural Park in the presence of Markus Schaller, First District Councillor, and Christine Streichert-Clivot, Minister of Education and Culture.
Markus Schaller welcomed those present and expressly thanked the Kulturpark team for their commitment. He highlighted the art of Thorsten Diehl, alias Mister Tad, emphasised the connection between the work of the archaeologists and what may be found in the future and was convinced of the multi-layered effect of the works.
Minister Christine Streichert-Clivot echoed these words, praising Mr Tad's works and his socially critical message. The Minister, a self-confessed admirer of Mr Tad's art, declared that she herself owned a work, thus confirming her support for this exhibition.
Both Markus Schaller and Christine Streichert-Clivot enjoyed the presence of young archaeologists from the cross-border excavation project Blies-Survey and both emphasised the wonderful link between the current work in and around the European Cultural Park and the work of Thorsten Diehl.
The small special exhibition can be seen in the foyer of the Fürstinnengraben in the Bliesbruck-Reinheim European Cultural Park until 31 October. Thorsten Diehl deals with the question: "What will people find of our current civilisation in 10,000 years' time?". The socio-critical component mentioned by the Minister can also be found in his works in the foyer.
The audience is encouraged to reflect - without being given definitive answers. The aim is to encounter the works with an open mind.
Opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10 am to 6 pm.
