The Saarpfalz district supports citizens in many life situations with various services, which not everyone is necessarily aware of. For example, the social psychiatric service of the health department advises and supports people in the Saarpfalz district who find themselves in stressful life situations or emergencies. For people with a mental illness, the employees offer counselling and support or arrange psychosocial help. Here, the social psychiatric service cooperates in particular with the care support centre, the care authority and the district's job centre as well as with other advice centres, clinics and medical specialists.
In addition to those affected themselves, relatives and people from their social environment can also take advantage of this counselling. The counselling service is free of charge and, of course, confidential.
The social psychiatric service also provides advice and information on HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, addiction, pregnancy conflict counselling and health promotion.
On-site consultations are possible in Homburg and St. Ingbert. If required, a home visit can also be arranged. In all cases, an appointment must be made in advance.
