"The district for a lifetime" is the title of the four-minute image film that the Saarpfalz district released last December. The project took around five months from tender to realisation.
The image film was put out to tender in June/July of last year with the main topics "The district in general", "Training, work and the economy", "Tourism and the biosphere" and "Europe and partnerships". The contract was awarded to the agency Brainworks Unlimited from Lebach, which has already realised various film projects with other Saarland authorities.
The script and texts were then developed in close collaboration with the Saarpfalz business development organisation and Saarpfalz tourism. At the same time, filming schedules were drawn up, filming permits obtained and protagonists acquired. These were found among the colleagues, acquaintances and friends of those responsible in the Press and Public Relations department. Six protagonists, from children to senior citizens, lead the film. Elisa and Louis Rein play the two children in the childcare situation, Julia Threm shows energetic commitment as an apprentice in the trades, while Marco Schmid mimes the active, nature-loving IT specialist who also enjoys using the co-working space in Saarpfalz Park with colleagues, including Eric Müller-Weiffenbach. Hadeel Alsmadi shows the Saarpfalz district as a cultural and gourmet region by taking viewers to the wine and cheese market in the beautiful baroque town of Blieskastel. In Gräfinthal, she meets senior citizen Edgar Bachmann, who enjoys the regional gastronomy and finally visits a Franco-German friendship festival. District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo and Doris Gaa, Managing Director of the business development agency, provide further information on the topics mentioned.
"This image film was created with the aim of keeping people in the Saarpfalz district in their home region and attracting new citizens to the region. This is why we set our focus topics. It was also important to me to emphasise the European orientation of our district. The realisation of all this has been very successful and I am proud of this film, which is wonderful to watch and show. I would like to thank the agency Brainworks Unlimited for their excellent cooperation and, of course, all those involved as well as the economic development agency for their financial contribution."
Filming took place from August to October in all towns and communities in the Saarpfalz district. In addition to those already mentioned, the film locations included the Gräfinthal natural theatre, Kirkel Castle with its rocky path, the Alte Schmelz in St. Ingbert, the historic market square in Homburg, the European Cultural Park in Bliesbruck-Reinheim and the Blies.
The film was presented at the district council meeting on 18 December and can be found on the Saarpfalz district website www.saarpfalz-kreis.de as well as on the Saarpfalz-Touristik YouTube channel.
