District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo recently welcomed the current German Industry 4.0 champions to the district administration office: Julian Winter from Großrosseln and Paul Schunck from Blieskastel-Webenheim.
Since May 2021, the Festo Learning Centre Saar in St. Ingbert-Rohrbach has been a WorldSkills Germany-certified Industry 4.0 Federal Training Centre. After 2021, the German championships in mechatronics and Industry 4.0 took place there again last October. With an outstanding team performance in Industry 4.0 technologies, Julian Winter and Paul Schunck stood out as highly motivated trainees at Festo SE in this future-oriented industry. They have now successfully completed their training as mechatronics engineers. The two young professionals were accompanied to the district administration office by business administration graduate Eva Minnig, who is responsible for customer support at the Festo Learning Centre Saar and has also supervised several research projects in recent years.
District Administrator Dr Gallo praised the two young men: "Your exceptional commitment and excellent implementation of the competition requirements are exemplary and an incentive for many other young people. You are setting standards for the future of industry. Your personal commitment and the resulting success, even if it does not always lead to a top place, are valuable for us as a society."
Julian Winter and Paul Schunck are enthusiastic about their profession and also endeavour to develop top performance, for which competitions of this kind offer a first-class platform. They confirmed that they are working in a "highly exciting field, also in the area of process optimisation". What they are both already looking forward to is the upcoming trip to Lyon in September. The WorldSkills World Championships will take place there from 10 to 15 September. Around 1500 participants from over 65 countries and regions will be competing against each other in 59 trades. Germany is taking part in 38 disciplines and is now sending Julian Winter and Paul Schunck into the race.
"I am delighted for you that you are able to experience this adventure, which it certainly will be given the competitive dimension. You can be proud of this and I wish you every success, but above all fun and enjoyment," said the District Administrator, "I would also like to thank the company's trainers for the great support they have given the young people - there is no clearer way to document the quality of training in this company."
