Public transport

The Saarpfalz district is responsible for local road-based public transport in the district and is therefore in charge of bus transport services in this area of responsibility. The Saarpfalz district commissions transport companies to operate the routes, which also serve as a point of contact for citizens with questions about the route network or timetables as well as complaints.

The Saarpfalz district publishes an annual timetable book that summarises the entire transport service in the district. In addition, folding timetables are published for the most important district bus routes. The district administration is also active in the marketing of local transport services and develops advertising measures and information brochures. Timetables and information material are available at various information points in the district.

In connection with the promotion of agriculture and education for sustainable development, the Saarpfalz district supports trips by Saarpfalz school classes to farms and learning centres in the Saarpfalz district and the Bliesgau biosphere.

Information material is also available at the DB Travel Centre at Homburg station and in the town halls.
