Vehicle fleet & charging infrastructure

Vehicle fleet and charging infrastructure

The Saarpfalz district is gradually converting its vehicle fleet and using low-emission electric drives.

The basis for the changeover is formed by the district's targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the Clean Vehicles Procurement Act (SaubG), which has been transposing the EU Clean Vehicles Directive (CVD) into national law since 2021.

To charge the district's own electric vehicles, non-public charging infrastructure has been set up at several locations so that the company vehicles can be refuelled with emission-free green electricity.

In order to give citizens and visitors the opportunity to charge emission-free in the centre of Homburg at the district administration, 14 charging points were set up in combination with a large solar carport.
