Climate & Energy
The Saarpfalz district has been intensively involved in climate protection and climate change management for over 30 years, particularly against the background of the initiation and further development of the Bliesgau biosphere reserve.
In general, existing concepts and approaches of the Saarpfalz district should be incorporated into all considerations and plans so that consistent development and the achievement of climate neutrality by 2045 is possible.
The areas of climate protection, climate adaptation and energy can no longer be separated and are therefore always considered and implemented together.
Climate protection management
In 2021, climate protection was firmly anchored in the district administration in terms of personnel. The position of climate protection manager was placed in the property management department to focus on the refurbishment of buildings and the switch to renewable energies.
Since then, climate protection manager Sabine Zägel has been the contact person for all topics relating to climate protection, climate adaptation and renewable energies.
