Training and studies

In order to fulfil the tasks assigned to us and shape the future of the Saarpfalz district, we need responsible, well-trained, open-minded and committed contact persons (f/m/d) who are happy to take care of people's concerns.

That is why we regularly train specialists for our administration.

    As part of a career as a civil servant, graduates (f/m/d) of this degree programme mainly work in the upper echelons of public administration. The dual study programme is divided into an academic and a practical part. The former takes place at the University of Applied Sciences for Administration in Göttelborn, where content from the fields of law, economics, administration and social sciences is taught. The practical part of the programme is completed in various departments of the district administration, but also in external training at other authorities. After completing the training, you will be employed in a wide variety of administrative fields as a qualified clerk (f/m/d), possibly also in management and leadership functions - whether in the internal service area or in contact with citizens (f/m/d).

    General information:

    Duration of studies: 3 years (6 semesters)
    Start of studies: 1 October
    Application period: August / September of the previous year
    Candidate salary: currently EUR 1,477.21

    Prerequisites:

    a school education entitling the holder to study at a university or a level of education recognised as equivalent

    Citizenship of an EU member state

    Health suitability for appointment as a civil servant

    Very good general education, reliability and careful work

    Team spirit and communication skills

    Determination and willingness to utilise the opportunities offered

    All applicants (f/m/d) may have to take an (online) aptitude test, which must be passed in order to participate in the further selection process.

    Study programme and course content:

    Appointment as a civil servant on revocation (district inspector candidate)

    The apprenticeship lasts three years (6 semesters) and takes the form of a dual study programme. This is divided into:

    • an eight-month basic study programme with a one-month internship,
    • two four-month academic study sections and an eight-month academic study section

    at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences for Administration (FHSV) in Göttelborn and

    • Three practical study periods of four months each

    The subject of the specialised theoretical study sections are in particular lectures in the fields of law, finance, administrative sciences and social sciences. Further information on the FHSV can be found here.

    The practical phases of the programme are completed at the district administration as well as at other local and state authorities in various subject areas.

    After passing the career examination, the university degree "Diplom- Verwaltungswirt*in (FH)" is awarded.

    After successful completion of the degree programme:

    civil servants in the senior civil service of general administration take on administrative tasks and are also trained for management positions in the future.

    Supplementary note: The Saarpfalz district also has reserved positions for soldiers in accordance with the Soldiers' Pension Act.

  • Apprenticeships: Administrative assistant (f/m/d)

    Graduates (f/m/d) of this apprenticeship are entrusted with various office and administrative tasks at public authorities and institutions. The training is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is completed in a six-week block course at the Commercial Vocational Training Centre I in Saarbrücken. In addition, there is an in-service training programme once a week at the Saarland School of Administration.

    The practical part of the programme takes place at Saarpfalz-Kreis. The activities include carrying out general administrative tasks such as processing personnel matters, helping to draw up budgets or categorising issues under specific legal and administrative regulations.

    Duration of training: generally 3 years
    Start of training: 1 August
    Application period: August / September of the previous year
    Training allowance: currently EUR 1,068.26 in the first year of training

    Prerequisites:

    Intermediate school-leaving certificate or a level of education recognised as equivalent

    Very good general education, reliability and careful work

    Team spirit and communication skills

    Determination and willingness to take advantage of the opportunities offered

    All applicants (f/m/d) may have to take an (online) aptitude test, which must be passed in order to participate in the further selection process.

    Training programme and learning content

    The varied training programme lasts three years and consists of a practical and a theoretical part. The practical part takes place in various departments of the district administration. Various administrative tasks are taught in a practical manner. The theoretical part of the training is completed in regular six-week block courses at the Commercial Vocational Training Centre I in Saarbrücken. This is supplemented once a week by in-service training at the Saarland School of Administration in Saarbrücken.     After successful completion of the training

    administrative assistants in general administration carry out office and administrative work.

  • Apprenticeships: Management Assistant (f/m/d) for Tourism and Leisure

    The Saarpfalz district and all municipalities belonging to the district have joined forces in the Saarpfalz-Touristik special-purpose association with the aim of promoting tourism in our region. The Saarpfalz-Touristik association is in favour of tourism development in harmony with nature and the people in the region. The head office is currently located in Blieskastel.

    Advising and informing customers (f/m/d) about tourist services and attractions, organising events and implementing sales and marketing concepts to promote regional tourism are part of the tasks in this apprenticeship. Training takes place at the vocational college in Saarbrücken and at the Saarpfalz-Touristik association in Blieskastel.

    Great interest in creating and communicating (regional) tourism offers and providing services in direct contact with customers

                                                                       

    Training programme and learning content:

    The varied dual training programme, i.e. the parallel training between the company and vocational school, lasts three years.

    The theoretical part of the training is completed twice a week at the Halberg Commercial Vocational Training Centre in Saarbrücken:

    After successful completion of the training programme:

    Tourism and leisure merchants develop and market tourism and leisure products locally, improve awareness of the region, increase its attractiveness for tourists and ensure customer satisfaction and service quality in the destination.

  • Apprenticeship: IT specialist (f/m/d) specialising in system integration

    IT specialists (f/m/d) specialising in system integration mainly work as service providers within the district administration. The training takes place at the technical and commercial vocational school in Saarbrücken and in the administration of the Saarpfalz district. The installation of operating systems and network administration/support are the main tasks of this apprenticeship. You will learn various programming languages and the functions of different IT systems and hardware components.

    Prerequisites:

    Intermediate level of education or a level of education recognised as equivalent

    Very good general education, reliability and careful working

    Basic knowledge of common PC applications

    Analytical and logical thinking

    Great interest in information technologies and technical contexts

    Team spirit and communication skills

    Determination and willingness to take advantage of the opportunities offered

    Training programme and learning content:

    The varied apprenticeship lasts three years and consists of a practical and a theoretical part.
    The practical sections take place in the IT - Information and Communication Technology - department of the district administration.
    The theoretical part of the apprenticeship is completed in regular weekly block courses at the Technical and Commercial Vocational Training Centre I in Saarbrücken. More information about the TGBBZ can be found here.

    After successful completion of the training programme:

    IT specialists for system integration install and configure information and telecommunications technology devices and systems. They provide customers with information and advice regarding the utilisation options and instruct users in the operation of the systems. They also install networks and carry out problem analyses.
