The district youth welfare office's annual summer holiday programme promises an eventful holiday with lots of fun, adventures and new friends. This year's programme includes between ten and twenty camps. The destinations range from the immediate vicinity of Saarland and Lorraine to other European countries.
The Saarpfalz district's summer holiday programme offers children and young people between the ages of 7 and 18 the opportunity to experience an active, exciting and affordable holiday with their peers. International encounters are just as much a part of the attractive offer as riding holidays, canoeing trips or sailing trips.
Depending on the duration and distance of the programme, the participation fee is between 130 and 400 euros. Accommodation is provided in tents, youth centres or school dormitories. Participants are expected to take an active part in group life and help with any work that needs to be done.
The summer holiday programme is published every year around mid-February and can be collected from all towns and municipalities in the Saarpfalz district.
In addition, the district youth welfare office organises and promotes children's and youth cultural programmes (workshops, theatre, project weeks, etc.). It organises its own measures and initiates activities for children and youth cultural work in the communities.
Cooperation with kindergartens and schools is just as much a part of the work as advising and supporting associations, groups, initiatives and other organisers of children's and youth cultural programmes.
