In addition to the alliance partners who drive project development at an operational level, the "International Alliance for Peace and Cohesion in Europe" is also supported by actors from supra-regional and European associations and organisations who support the interests of the alliance as "ambassadors" and contribute to the increased visibility of the commitment in various political and civil society circles:
CEPLI
CEPLI (European Confederation of Local Intermediate Authorities / Confédération Européenne des Pouvoirs locaux intermédiaire) is the umbrella organisation of intermunicipal authorities in Europe. It promotes their increased participation in the decision-making processes of the EU and is committed to a continuous exchange of best practice and the visibility of their commitment at a pan-European level. Its members include the German Association of Counties and the Association of Polish Counties (ZPP).
German County Association
As the umbrella organisation for local authorities, the Deutscher Landkreistag represents the public welfare interests of the 294 German rural districts at federal level and, in addition to the principle of local self-government, promotes the exchange of experience between the various rural districts. In view of the growing importance of European regulations for local administrative practice, the association is also increasingly active in the cross-border area with its foreign office in Brussels.Association of Polish Counties (ZPP)
The Association of Polish Counties (Związek Powiatów Polskich or ZPP for short) is the institutional counterpart to the German County Association in Poland. It represents the interests of the 314 Polish counties(powiaty ) and the 66 cities with county rights(miasta na prawach powiatu) and promotes model development policy solutions, including in the Polish-Ukrainian border region.
Ukrainian Association of Rajon and Regional Councils (YAPOP)
The Ukrainian Association of Rajon and Regional Councils (Українська Асоціація Районних Та Обласних Радor YAPOP for short) is the institutional counterpart to the German Association of Districts in Ukraine. It has 148 members (24 oblast councils, 119 rayon councils and four other collective self-governing bodies) and supports local and regional authorities, particularly in establishing and maintaining international relations.
Weimarer Dreieck e. V.
The Weimar Triangle e. V. is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 2010 to give the political idea of the Weimar Triangle, which was established in 1991, a civil society basis. The aim is to promote understanding and friendship between Germany, Poland and France as part of a united Europe. The association aims to strengthen trilateral exchange through projects in the fields of culture, education, sport and music as well as the involvement of civil society. As a contact point, it networks players from politics, partnerships, foundations and societies in order to bundle and further develop joint European activities.
EuRegio SaarLorLux+
EuRegio SaarLorLux+ is a non-profit association under Luxembourg law that represents municipal interests in the four-country corner of the Greater Region and brings together various stakeholders from politics, administration and civil society to promote cross-border projects in the areas of citizen information, cross-border labour market, intercultural youth work or multilingualism and to strengthen the status of the Greater Region as a model region in Europe. District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo has been President of EuRegio since March 2024. His elected successor, Frank John, District Administrator of the Saarpfalz district, will take over the presidency of EuRegio on 1 June 2025.German-Polish Society Saar (DPG Saar)
The DPG Saar has been supporting initiatives to strengthen German-Polish exchange on a cultural, media, economic and scientific level for many years. District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo has been Chairman of the DPG Saar since 2018 and has also been a member of the board of the federal association since November 2023.
