Staff Unit for European, Partnership and Funding Matters, European Affairs Officer
The Staff Unit for European, Partnership and Funding Matters fulfils cross-sectional and interdisciplinary tasks relating to the conception, organisation and implementation of sustainable measures in terms of intercultural understanding and Europeanisation. As a wide-ranging competence centre, it coordinates the implementation of the Saarpfalz district's strategic European work and offers individual advice and support to interested citizens, local associations and companies as well as various political and administrative players who are committed to the European idea across borders.
The work of the staff unit, like all activities of the Saarpfalz district, is part of the "European and cosmopolitan" leitmotif that has been successively introduced since 2022 and is based on various axes of action:
- Maintaining, expanding and intensifying international partnerships
- Promotion of cross-border encounters and cultural exchange
- Support for school and educational partnerships and international youth work
- Development of cross-border co-operation projects
- Democracy and peace promotion
- Strengthening international understanding and European dialogue
- etc.
