At the most recent district council meeting, District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo appointed Thomas Hauck as district fire chief for a period of eight years on behalf of the Saarpfalz district, appointing him as an honorary civil servant. In this honorary role, the 52-year-old from Oberwürzbach has already very successfully supported the former fire inspector Uwe Wagner, particularly in the areas of training and the youth fire brigade. This will continue to be the focus of his work in the future.
"I am grateful to Thomas Hauck for agreeing to continue as district fire chief. He is a very experienced and reliable firefighter - his career began in 1987 in the Oberwürzbach youth fire brigade - who is very familiar with the organisation of the fire service in the Saarpfalz district. The commitment of volunteers is of existential importance for our community. In this respect, Thomas Hauck is representative of the many volunteers in the district and an example for others to also get involved," said a delighted District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo.
Fire inspector Stefan Schrögler is supported and represented alongside Thomas Hauck by Steffen Rastetter, who was also appointed district fire chief for a second term of eight years in 2022.
