When young people find themselves at crossroads in their educational or professional lives and have to make decisions, signposts can be very helpful. One such guide can be found in the Saarpfalz district in the form of the Youth and Work Coordination Centre.
For many years, the Saarpfalz district has been supporting young people and young adults aged between 15 and 25 who live in the Saarpfalz district with their professional orientation and integration.
The coordination centre offers assistance in finding an apprenticeship, job or university place, writing applications and dealing with authorities, offices and employers. It also helps with the search for further training opportunities and pre-vocational training programmes.
Here, it works closely and cooperatively with the careers advice service of the employment agency, to whose counselling services it makes referrals if necessary.
However, the coordination centre can also be a point of contact for personal concerns and problems, provide support and, if necessary, refer people to further help and advice centres.
For many young people, questions about what to do after school arise at the latest when they receive their half-year report cards. Not all of them already have concrete ideas. Would it be better to do a voluntary social year first? Or an internship abroad? What would I like to study? How do I write an application or find out what suits me?
"The coordination centre can help with all these questions. Utilisation does not require an application and is free of charge. It is available to all teenagers and young adults. I can therefore only recommend that they take advantage of this offer and get information in good time," emphasises District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo.
All you need to do is make an appointment by telephone or e-mail to arrange a consultation.
The Youth and Work Coordination Office in the Saarpfalz district is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Women and Health and the European Social Fund Plus as part of the "Investments in Employment and Growth" programme.
The contact person is Claudia Möller. She can be contacted on (06841) 104-8480 or by e-mail at [email protected]. The office is located at Scheffelplatz 1 in Homburg. Ms Möller offers external consultation hours by appointment at the town hall and the family support centre in St. Ingbert.
