Career breakfast with the inner driving force in sight

The team from the Women's Office in the Saarpfalz district once again proved to have the right touch when choosing a speaker for the popular career breakfast. Nicole Staudinger, nine-time bestselling author, top speaker and TV presenter, captivated the audience for an hour in the education centre of the Chamber of Labour in Kirkel. Based on her latest publication "Bin fast fertig, muss nur noch anfangen..." (I'm almost done, just have to get started...), she focussed her talk on the inner driving force - a better word for motivation - and how to activate it. She drew primarily on her own experiences and her life story, which took a turn at the age of 32 after a serious breast cancer diagnosis. Despite the seriousness of the illness, she did not serve up any heavy fare and earned a lot of applause, and not just at the end. She increasingly got to the bottom of the question of how it can be that people know everything about a healthy, happy life in theory and yet often make the wrong decisions in everyday life. One of her tips: "Make the better decision the easier one".

The women had certainly made a very good decision, filling the hall to the last seat and enjoying a breakfast buffet that left little to be desired. In this company, District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo stood out as the male guest - alongside the building technician, who still had some work to do. However, he and the 160 or so female visitors took this fact in their stride.

In his words of welcome at the start of the event, the District Administrator stated: "I would like to thank the team from the Women's Office, which has developed the career breakfast in cooperation with the Saarpfalz Economic Society into a small crowd-puller in the Saarpfalz district over the past 20 years. I like the noticeable informality of the interaction, the way in which the guests can meet and network here. This is my last career breakfast that I will be attending in my role as District Administrator, but I will be happy to return and I sincerely wish the event continued success and at least as much enjoyment as before."

In this respect, the career breakfast was characterised by further farewells. It was the last event organised by Birgit Rudolf, the women's representative and initiator of the career breakfast, and Doris Gaa, Managing Director of the business development agency. Both committed women were on stage together for the last time and although the two successful movers and shakers were not yet able to say "goodbye", it was important to them this morning to give the audience a concrete message: "Be tolerant towards your fellow human beings and above all and especially towards other women. Don't try to valorise your life model by talking down the decisions of other women. Together we are strong and tolerance among women takes us further. Everyone is different and diversity is what makes us who we are."

Doris Gaa then took the opportunity to cite Birgit Rudolf herself as the best example of this: "In the many decades of her professional career, she has always been personally committed to everyone, she has lived this tolerance on a daily basis. Her diverse customers, with very different biographies and cultural backgrounds, really appreciate this. It was always a constructive and trusting collaboration. How nice to have people around you who put their heart and soul into their work - just like Mrs Rudolf," concluded Doris Gaa, touching the women's representative with these words. However, she also thanked all the loyal visitors to the event and all those who have actively supported them with their heart and soul.
