Prince and princess of the KG "Die Blätsch" in the district office

Prince Patrick I von Lauf und Reisen and Princess Katja II, the prince and princess of KG "Die Blätsch" Bexbach 1953 e. V., paid their respects to District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo at the district administration office during the peak of carnival activities. They were accompanied by the new president of the association, Dennis Beinhorn, as well as by Elferrat member Ulrich Burbes. This was a first for the district administrator, who was delighted to hear about the life of a prince and princess. Since the start of the carnival season last year, they have already attended numerous events and appointments that are required of them by virtue of their office. These included, for example, the reception for the princely couples at the State Chancellery and the traditional princely breakfast organised by the Association of Saarland Carnival Clubs, which took place in Merzig this year. There, Prince Patrick I von Lauf und Reisen and Princess Katja II came an impressive fourth in the election for Prince and Princess of the Year. The District Administrator warmly congratulated them and made it clear that he sees and recognises the commitment of the Bexbach couple and the association, even though he personally attends fewer carnival events in the district. "Nevertheless, every year I am inspired anew by the commitment of the clubs, which work all year round towards the next foolish session, the 'fifth season', and then bring people together to celebrate with cap meetings, dance events and carnival parades. Fastnacht is a cultural asset that is not short on humour and belongs to Germany and our region. It is sometimes its duty to hold up a mirror to our society. Carnival customs are as versatile as society itself. It's fascinating to see and I would like to thank everyone who puts their heart and soul into preserving this cultural asset," said the district administrator.
He spontaneously took this fact as an opportunity to offer to take the prince and princess as well as the representatives of the "Blätsch" clubs on a trip to the Polish partner districts of Premysl or Lancut as cultural ambassadors, so to speak, in order to contribute to the preservation of the cultural heritage across borders and to start an exchange.
