Textbook lending continues to enjoy great popularity. According to the Saarpfalz district's school administration department, the rate of participating pupils for the coming 2024/25 school year is currently around 99 per cent of the pupil population.
To ensure that pupils can start the new school year with their school books straight away, the district administration offers special dates for their distribution at schools during the holiday period, as it does every year. Parents can conveniently collect the book packs on these days and clarify any questions immediately on site. When borrowing books, parents must prove their identity by showing their ID card; authorised adults also require a power of attorney and a copy of the ID card of their parent or guardian. Pupils who have not yet reached the age of majority may only obtain school books on this day in the presence of a parent or guardian.
Anyone who has so far failed to pay the loan fee or submit the subsidy notification should do so now so that the new school year can start successfully with the new books.
The book packages should be checked for completeness and condition immediately upon collection, as later complaints may not be considered.
Pupils who are unable to attend the holiday dates with their parents will receive their books in the first week of school during lesson time.
In addition to printed textbooks and workbooks, digital book licences and the necessary mobile device including accessories can also be borrowed in the coming school year.
Rental tablets are issued on a separate day during lessons at the school. Any borrowed digital textbooks will be activated on the loan tablets via the Online School Saarland ("OSS").
