The Ministry for the Environment, Climate, Mobility, Agriculture and Consumer Protection is inviting all interested Saarlanders to participate in the development of the climate protection concept from the end of August. In the Saarpfalz district, the participation forum will take place on Thursday 29 August from 6 pm in the large conference room of the Homburg Forum.
In the first part of the two-hour event, the Saarland's climate protection goals and their planned implementation will be presented, giving participants an overview of the bundles of measures included. In the second part, there will then be an opportunity to discuss technical topics, funding opportunities and measures to adapt to the consequences of climate change. Suggestions from citizens will be taken on board. The events will be followed by topic-specific specialist working groups, which will examine the proposals submitted for their feasibility and, if necessary, concretise them.
Registration is possible online at www.saarland.de/beteiligung-ksk or by calling (0681) 501-4991.
Background:
Saarland wants to make its contribution to climate protection and to adapting to the effects of climate change that are already being felt in the state. The Saarland climate protection concept is currently being drawn up as a basis for action for the future climate strategy. The state government adopted its first version in July and presented it to the public. It serves as a basis for discussion and action for all citizens, all companies, associations and organisations as well as the municipal family and the state parliament. All these stakeholders are called upon to further develop the climate protection concept together with the specialised public.
