Members of the fire brigades who have rendered outstanding services to the development and promotion of the youth fire brigade receive an honorary badge in recognition of their special commitment to voluntary work.
At the request of the representative of the Saarpfalz district youth fire brigade, Christian Müller, the senior fire chief of the Homburg-Kirrberg fire-fighting district, Dirk Müller, and the senior fire chief of the fire-fighting district
St. Ingbert-Rentrisch, Christoph Gillmann, was delighted to receive the more than well-deserved award.
Dirk Müller, who has already worked as a youth, city youth and district youth warden, became deputy federal youth leader of the German Youth Fire Service in 2013 and has earned a reputation and merits throughout Europe. As the main initiator and organiser, he brought the German Youth Fire Brigade Day to Homburg in 2022 - a fantastic event. As part of the district youth fire brigade team, he heads the Press and Public Relations department.
Christoph Gillmann, also a former youth and city youth warden, took over the competition department in the district youth fire brigade in 2014 and was a member of the Saarland youth fire brigade's team of judges. Today, he is the state youth leader of the Saarland Youth Fire Service.
Both firefighters are irreplaceable and integral parts of the youth fire brigade work in the Saarpfalz district, who have earned a great deal of respect among the population through their tireless efforts, Christian Müller said.
District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo presented the two volunteers with honorary bracelets and a certificate for special services during a ceremony at the district administration office. District fire inspector Uwe Wagner, Christian Müller and his two deputies Dirk Sandmayer and Eric Müller also congratulated them.
"The youth fire brigade's badge of honour recognises the beneficial work of the fire service and I am delighted to be able to award it to Dirk Müller and Christoph Gillmann. 'Honour to whom honour is due' - this saying hits the nail on the head here and the two firefighters can be proud of the award as a visible sign of appreciation for their commitment. Many thanks for this," praised District Administrator Dr Theophil Gallo.
