The Hospice and Palliative Network Saarpfalz invites you to the Hospice Forum on Thursday, 16 May. The lecture event entitled "Mrs Mayer wants to die at home - what can we do?" begins at 6 pm in the small conference room in the Homburg Forum.
The aim of the hospice movement is to enable people to live and die in a self-determined and conscious way in their familiar surroundings, with as little discomfort as possible. In the lecture "Mrs Mayer wants to die at home", questions are answered about how those affected can support their seriously ill relatives and which services are available to help them. A case study is used to show what can still be done when "nothing more can be done".
District Administrator Dr Gallo: "The Hospice Forum is an appealing format in which experts convey the challenging topics surrounding death and dying in a relaxed atmosphere. The lecture is certainly also worth listening to for those who are not currently directly affected. I am convinced that it helps us humans to come to terms with death, at least in some form, during our lifetime. The Hospice Forum with its current range of lectures certainly opens up new horizons and serves as a guide during a stressful time for carers in the family environment."
Speakers Gabriele John-Neumann from the Ecumenical Outpatient Hospice Counselling Service (AHPB) and Susanne Ratering from the Specialised Outpatient Palliative Care (SAPV) team will present their work and the support and counselling services they offer for seriously ill and dying people. In addition, general practitioner Dr Jutta Ziegler will report from the perspective of GP care.
Afterwards, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Participation is free of charge. For organisational reasons, however, registration is required by 13 May: by e-mail to [email protected] or by telephone on (06841) 104-8056 or (06841) 104-8479.
