LEADER project - development of an app for the Saarpfalz district and the Bliesgau biosphere to link public transport and hiking tourism
As a "Destination Nature", TourCert partner and "sustainable destination", it is an important endeavour of the Saarpfalz district, Saarpfalz-Touristik and the Bliesgau biosphere to shift leisure and tourism transport to sustainable modes of transport. The well-developed public transport network in particular has great potential in this area. In order to further reduce barriers to planning (day) trips by public transport for locals and guests and to actively integrate bus and rail into the promotion of the tourist offer, an app is being developed that acts as an interface between the detailed timetable information of the Saarland transport association ("saarfahrplan") and the leisure and tourism offers in the Saarpfalz district, especially the hiking trails.
This app is intended to enable users to discover the extensive hiking offer in the Saarpfalz district and the Bliesgau biosphere in a user-friendly way and at the same time to obtain clear and easily accessible information on travelling by bus and train.
