Development of rural areas
The Saarpfalz district supports agricultural measures and regional initiatives as part of its funding guidelines for rural areas (see download area below). Village development also plays a particularly important role here.
The "Our village has a future" competition is an important instrument for village self-responsibility and is organised at district level by the Saarpfalz district. The necessary advice and support for the village committees is provided by the "Rund ums Dorf" advice centre.
The district administration sees itself as a partner to committed people in the villages of the Saarpfalz district. This is why this advice centre was set up to provide advice on "All about the village". The staff at the advice centre help to develop good ideas further and implement them successfully with or without funding.
This service is complemented by the LEADER office of the LAG Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau, which is located in the district administration. The LEADER region uses EU and state funds to support projects to promote rural areas. Further information can be found at www.biosphaere-bliesgau.eu/lag.
