Health reporting
According to the Public Health Service Act, one of the tasks of the public health department is to collect and analyse relevant data from the health sector (epidemiologically). To compile the health reports, anonymised data from the individual areas of the district health authority (official medical service, health supervision, child and youth health service, child and youth dental service, social psychiatric service) as well as regional and national data from official statistics are used.
The reports can be used to identify fields of action for health promotion and health policy measures and also serve to inform the population about health risks. Accordingly, health reports are made available to experts and politicians as well as the public. Anonymised data is also forwarded to the Ministry of Health for nationwide evaluations.
