Café Frauenzimmer

The Café Frauenzimmer is a special kind of women's café:

• A place for encounters
• A room to feel good in
• An opportunity to exchange ideas

Women have the opportunity here,

• make new contacts
• Receive information on specific topics
• to be creative together
• and other women-specific offers.

The Frauenzimmer café in the FrauenForum of the Saarpfalz district is run as a non-profit café by the Frau und Gesellschaft e.V. association. Since 1989, women from different cultural backgrounds have been working together in the association on a voluntary basis with the aim of offering an intercultural meeting centre for women. In addition, the association offers a colourful and varied programme for women in cooperation with the Saarpfalz district women's office.

The Café Frauenzimmer is a regular venue:

• Wednesday café with homemade cakes and creative hands-on activities: Wednesdays from 14:00 -18:00
• Intercultural women's breakfast with buffet: Fridays from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
• Intercultural storytelling café: One Friday a month.

The Intercultural Storytelling Café takes place once a month on Fridays under the direction of supervisor and coach Dorothee Neurohr-Gebhardt. People from different cultures meet and talk to each other: About themselves, their biographical experiences, their values, goals and hopes; perhaps also about disappointments and losses... Storytelling creates closeness and distance at the same time: closeness to people and distance to experiences. It creates a basis for questions and decisions. Sometimes it can even heal. And according to Odo Marquard, people "have to" tell stories: "Whoever renounces telling, renounces their stories; whoever renounces their stories, renounces themselves." There is also a thematic impulse at each meeting.
