Weapons law

  • Service description

German weapons law generally makes the acquisition and possession of firearms or ammunition subject to a licence requirement. The basis for this is the German Weapons Act (WaffG) in the currently valid version.

The weapons authority processes all applications for the acquisition and possession of firearms requiring a licence in connection with a firearms possession card (WBK) for hunters, marksmen and heirs, firearms licences, European firearms passports (EFP), transfer licences, import licences, ammunition acquisition licences, weapons trading and manufacturing licences as well as exemptions from the age requirement.

The weapons authority of the Saarpfalz district is responsible for all residents who have their 1st place of residence in the Saarpfalz district.
