Report the transfer of weapons or ammunition only to authorised persons in Germany
Service description
If you transfer your weapon and/or ammunition subject to authorisation to another person, you must report this to the competent weapons authority within two weeks. The competent firearms authority will then delete the entry for the weapon and/or ammunition from your firearms licence (WBK) and, if applicable, from your European firearms pass.
You do not have to report if you
- to leave essential parts of the weapon in order to have embellishment work or similar work carried out and then receive them back once the work has been completed,
- weapons and/or ammunition as part of a training and employment relationship,
- weapons and/or ammunition temporarily for shooting at a shooting range.
Procedure
You must report the transfer of weapons and/or ammunition requiring a licence to the responsible weapons authority. Submit the application together with the required documents.

You have a firearms licence (WBK).

You can use the NWR identification numbers (NWR ID) to complete the advert more quickly:
- Your personal NWR ID (P or F NWR ID) for your personal details
- the permit NWR ID for the firearms licence (E-NWR ID)
- the weapon or weapon part NWR ID (W or T NWR ID).
You can obtain NWR IDs on application to the relevant firearms authority.
